The countdown to Microsoft STEAM Hack-to-Learn 2023 is on! Tour the Microsoft Corporate Office, connect with Microsoft technology experts, explore Generative AI, CoPilot, and create apps with no-code leveraging Power Platform, and discover connections to Computer Science that impact all areas of life, illuminate your coding skills by programming dazzling LED light displays – where creativity meets technology; plus, you won’t want to miss our special keynote presentation and panel discussion to lean into diverse STEAM career journey stories and the fun Microsoft SWAG!

BCGT is excited to partner with Microsoft, Code Your Dreams, Excellerate Learning Studio, MehtA+, LinkedIn and more to offer a full-day STEAM event for our middle and high school students.

Get ready for an unforgettable experience at the STEAM Hack-to-Learn Event at the Microsoft Chicago campus! Here’s what you can expect:

  • A dynamic STEAM learning experience that will help you discover the connections between Computer Science and all areas of life.
  • Keynote presentations from industry leaders, including the General Manager of Customer Success for the West Midwest Region at Microsoft and the CEO of the Global Mentorship Initiative (GMI)
  • An opportunity to explore a wide range of exciting STEAM careers and gain invaluable insights from Microsoft’s tech leaders.
  • The chance to experience the future of education and career development with cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI, ChatGPT, and CoPilot.
  • The ability to discover new career paths and unlock your full potential in the world of STEAM.
  • Immerse in two high-energy and hands-on Hack-to-Learn sessions that will blow your mind. (1) You'll learn how to create amazing apps with no-code, using cutting-edge AI technology, CoPilot, and Power Platform. (2) You'll also get to showcase your coding skills (no prior coding skills necessary) with Microsoft MakeCode block-based or Javascript programming, by programming dazzling LED light displays that will leave everyone in awe. And if that's not enough, we've even got a fun opportunity for those interested in K-Pop dance!
  • Explore a mini-STEAM Fair like no other focusing on Robotics, AI Visual Art, Mathematics, STEAM Majors in College; giving you the chance to discover new passions and unlock your full potential

We’re thrilled to have Microsoft as our community partner and to be able to use their state-of-the-art facilities to provide our students with meaningful and super fun learning opportunities. Thanks to the generous donations from our BCGT community (please consider donating to BCGT here Donate | BCGT 220), as well as a generous award from the Microsoft Community Empowerment Fund, managed by the Microsoft Datacenter Community Development Team, we are excited to offer our STEAM event for FREE to everyone! However, registration is required, so be sure to sign up now to secure your spot.

Bus transportation (students will be picked up and dropped off at the Barrington High School parking lot), food and refreshments will be provided. We will provide you with more information about the event and transportation details closer to the event.

Membership is open to all – you can join today (Membership | BCGT 220) and help us support our students to move full STEAM ahead, expand students’ career horizons and be the next generation of impact leaders.
